The Her-side of Love Stories that touched my Heart!

Hey All, 

We all love "love stories". They are always special.

But, don't we find it even more special when she (female) takes the initiative in her love life?

Most of our Indian films shows a male and female protagonists where the male falls in love and the female accepts it.

Among them, there are few stories where the female falls in love and then... The twist takes place! 😉 

As it's International Women's Day today (08/03/2023), I would like to share my favourite Her-side of Love Stories from our Indian Cinema.

1. VARADU KAAVALENU (Groom Wanted) 

Ever since I watched this film, its on my top favorite list. A beautiful Rom-Com with no errotic scene. 

I could connect myself a lot with this film. It's a 2021 Telugu film. 

The female lead is Bhoomi (Ritu Varma) gets an instant connection with Akash (Naga Shouriya). When she was about to propose him, she learns that he wasn't interested in the idea of love. She hides her feelings within herself and bids good bye to him. 

Two years later, she encounters Akash but doesn't know he came all way to India to propose her. 

Every little scene is wonderfully portrayed and dialogues are beautifully written. 

I almost memorised every dialogue in it but the most favourite is this one. 

"How could I ever expect a right person to pick the call when I dial the wrong number?" 

2. ENGEYUM KADHAL (எங்கேயும் காதல்)

It's a 2011 Tamil film stared by Jeyam Ravi As Kamal and Hansika Motwani as Lolita.

This movie is completely set in France and Italy and it picturizes a lovely romance between the male and female lead. 

The female lead is a music student (Celloist) and her father Mr. Rajashekar runs a detective agency. She is much fascinated reading her father's files secretly. One day, she happens to see Kamal and instantly falls in love with him. 

Days rolled, one day she learns that one of her Father's Client's girl friend is dating Kamal. She wants to save Kamal as the Client was mad at him. That night changed both their lives. 

A good friendship bloomed between them but she never told him her name. So, Kamal named her Lolita. 

She learns that Kamal never believed in True love which left her broken. 

By their second meet (Kamal's Second Vacation), she uses a trick to make him feel her love. 

And her effort doesn't end in vain. 

He comes all his way back to France searching Her. He finds her and apologises. 

Though this film is a charming love story, I never fascinate the idea of making someone fall in love by creating a possessiveness in them. That doesn't last, bruh! 

3. OH MY KADAVULE (ஓ மை கடவுளே) 

A Friendship cum Love story stared by Ashok Selvan as Arjun and Rithika Singh as Anu. 

A 2020 Tamil film. 

Ashok marries his childhood friend, Anu. Though they are happy in the beginning, soon it turns out to be miserable. 

So, they plan to divorce. 

At the Court, Arjun happens to meet a lawyer and gets a second chance to live a life. 

But he has no idea that it's gonna completely change his perspective. 

So, these films are my all time favourite. Hope you enjoyed reading.
